THE HOLLAND FAMILY

Peter and Christina Holland, the founders of Once Upon a Blue Ridge, met while performing with the Patchwork Players, one of the oldest professional theatres in the South. With their young son, Ben, they make their home in Meadows of Dan, VA– just off the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway.

Christina Holland graduated from Ferrum College with a BA in Fine Arts.

She toured with the Jack Tale Players and later taught Drama in the Patrick County schools.

Christina has a Virginia teacher’s license and is certified to teach drama and music.

A beautiful singer and comic actress, audiences- young and old- love her.

Peter Holland is a veteran actor, writer, and director with over thirty years experience in the Theatre.

He has over 200 professional stage credits in theatres all over the US.

His plays for young people include “The Living Storybook”, “Jack and His Magic Sack”, and

“The Wonderful Adventures of Brer Rabbit”.

His plays for adult audiences include “A Country Courtship”- a musical comedy based on two Chekov comedies–

and “Mr. Lincoln’s Office”- a one man play based on the writings of Abraham Lincoln.

His newest musical play is the critically acclaimed “Heaven on Wheels”

which premiered at the Actor’s Theatre of Charlotte May 2010.

As talented as the Hollands are as performers,

perhaps their greatest talent is inspiring and developing young performers.

Over the past eight years, hundreds of  student actors in NC and VA have been trained and inspired by them.
