Once Upon a Blue Ridge Theatre Company, in partnership with Porkchop Productions,

presents an important new anti-bullying show for grades prek-5

By Stacey Maxwell

"Betty Barsky threatens to punch William Winky in the nose!"

Starring Peter and Christina Holland

The first day at a new school is difficult for any kid.

But when second grader, William Winky meets school bully, Betty Barsky at the bus stop before the first day of school at Tapwater Springs Elementary School, William's anxiety level rises sky high.

First she makes fun of his name. Then she makes fun of his lunch- his favorite- an egg salad sandwich.

The next day she makes fun of his clothes.

Eventually, Betty threatens to punch William in the nose!

What should William do to protect himself and change Betty's bad, bullying behavior?

Fortunately, William has a smart mom who teaches him how to deal with bullies.

William and the audience learn the three rules of dealing with bullies: Stand tall, Don't fall, Tell all!

Written and researched by Stacey Maxwell,

Sticks and Stones is a funny,

delightful play that will entertain, inform, and positively

influence the children in your community.

"Sticks and Stones was a fantastic performance, perfect for all ages, with a simple message to aid in being bullied.

As principal, I recommend this performance to elementary, middle, and even high schoolers.

The Hollands are great."

Jeannie King, Principal,

"Sticks & Stones is a very effective, simple way to get the bullying message out there for the kids to understand.

It is educational and memorable."

The three rules of what to do when confronted by bullying (stand tall, don't fall, tell all) are right on target, providing students with specific guidelines to follow."
